Back by popular demand, the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts presents Wendy Woo in concert. Wendy will be joined by Robin Hoch. Wendy and Robin can take a catchy upbeat song or a slow, melodic one and get you moving to the beat. Robin on viola, coupled with Wendy on acoustic guitar, give the duo a unique sound as their voices fill in the rest.

Because of her sultry voice and amazing talent playing acoustic guitar, Wendy has enjoyed a magic ride in the music world and accumulated an impressive local Colorado and country-wide fan base. In 1999, Wendy won a battle of the bands competition which led her to play in the Lilith Fair at Fiddler’s Green, with such acts as the Indigo Girls and Sarah McLachlan. Wendy won awards for Best Local Artist (Colorado Daily) and Independent Artist of the Year (Hapi Skratch Entertainment) among others. Her songs were used commercially as well, in the Food Network’s “Food Nation with Bobby Flay” and in the 1999 Discovery Channel documentary “Mountain of Dreams.” Wendy has released seven of her own recordings in the past 12 years. Wendy’s early influences, the folk-rock music of Suzanne Vega and Paul Simon, inspired Wendy to stay primarily with the acoustic guitar and to take from her roots in Boulder and add her own style to it. In 2009, Wendy, Robin, and the rest of the Wendy Woo Band came in second place as part of the Almost Famous Battle of the Bands and made the top 5 of Channel 7’s A-List for Best Local Band in Denver.
