Glass: we're surrounded by it and generally look right through it, but there is a group of artists whose aim is to make glass more distracting, more beautiful, more noticeable. Glass Artists of the Pikes Peak Region (GAPPR) hosts their 2nd annual exhibit entitled "Glass in the Springs: 2010."

An opening reception occurs on April 30 from 5-8 p.m. This juried show invites glass artists working in glass jewelry, hot glass (including torchwork), warm glass (kiln-worked glass), cold-worked glass (including traditional stained glass work, etched, or painted glass), glass mosaic, and 3-D sculptural forms and home décor. Last year's exhibit included over 30 artists from the Pikes Peak Region. This year's show promises a similar scope of work created by both amateur and professional artists. Judge's prizes will be awarded and votes will be taken for a People's Choice Award.

GAPPR is an association of glass artists/crafters organized for the purpose of perpetuating and encouraging glass art work, as well as educating and socially connecting glass artists/crafters in the pursuit of the business of glass crafting and artistry in the Pikes Peak region. GAPPR is thrilled to be joining forces with Cottonwood Center for the Arts this year.
