Jerry Burgan of the We Five: Performing Songs and Stories
May 8, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Before Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead, We Five helped launch the San Francisco sound. During the mid-1960s, the group was on the leading edge of a musical revolution, one that married electric instruments (like electric 12-string guitars) and drums with acoustic folk, ushering in the age of “folk rock." We Five was born out of a collaboration between Jerry Burgan and Mike Stewart (whose brother, John, helped form the Kingston Trio). Jerry Burgan appears to perform some old favorite songs and tell some delightful tales from his storied career.
