If you can walk, you can dance! Move to the sounds of music in an environment full of fun, energy and ease of movements with Anabela Osavio-Crooks.
For Anabela, dancing was part of growing up in Panama. Due to the diversity in her country, Anabela was able to acquire the movements and style for many dances such as Salsa, Meringue, Reggae, Calypso, Afro-Cuban, and Hip Hop. Dancing connects her with her African roots.
Anabela moved to Colorado Springs in 1984 but she felt a void and missed the connectivity of dancing. In 1992, she combined her talents with four other women of African/Caribbean heritage to form a dancing and drumming group called “Sankofa” (an African term meaning “Return and Pick-it-Up”).

Anabela is the epitome of grace and beauty. Coming from one dancer to the next, she is beautiful in every movement that she does. I am honored to know her and to be in her presence.
