Friday April 23rd sees the return of NOTHINGTON. The former members of Tsunami bomb, but wait! Before you utter the words that you hate female singers, this are the GUYS from Tsunami Bomb! No longer just a Social Distortion-esque band, this band uses that warm ocean air and combines it with a heavy Clash flavor and a nice touch of Social D and 90's skate punk to create a force of intense, infectious punk rock with a heartfelt passion. They are also on BYO records. The Label started by Youth Brigade and the first label of The Bouncing Souls! They last played in November and their newest CD, has not left a steady rotation in my car in the time since. I also can't get them unstuck from my head. Absolutely one of my favorite bands to have ever graced the Nickel's stage. Take a listen at: http://www.myspace.com/nothington Arach Attack is one of the newer punk band to storm the local scene in the last few months. Featuring members of Anamani, Stab Crew & 4 through 6. They've taken their love of late 90's skate punk bands of yore, IE The Offsprings, Vandals & Diesel Boy. They're sloppy, yet fun. You should already know the Punk/Ska rockers in Murder Hat. After losing their two founding members, these guys have scaled back on the reggea and moved to a more punk rock based Ska sound reminiscent of Older Suicide Machines & Less Than Jake, just without horns. http://www.myspace.com/murderhat1 Also, word on the street, our good friend K-K-Kalia will leaving us very shortly after this event.
