The Latino Student Union brings Juan R. Melendez-Colon, who spent nearly 18 years on Death Row for a murder he did not commit. Sent to prison in the mid-1980s and exonerated of the crime in 2002, he is now an in-demand public speaker and human rights activist. At the time he was convicted, Melendez could not read or write English and was reported to have a ninth grade education. He was the 99th Death Row prisoner in the U.S. to be exonerated...
