    Everybody Welcome: a Celebration of Culture and Diversity

    The Cotton Club annually recreates and celebrates a vibrant slice of Colorado Springs history, Fannie Mae Duncan’s Cotton Club. The 2010 honoree, Peggy Marshall, was selected for her nationally recognized, progressive work as a proponent of diversity and inclusion and for her work in integrating developmentally disabled persons into society, to the founding of the Tactile Gallery in the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, to her recognition by the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Gardens for her work on wheelchair-accessible gardens. The 2010 Cotton Club will feature dancing to the sounds of Phat Daddy and the Horn Doctors.

    Voices of Harmony Choir Competion Sunday, August 8th 5:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Colorado College Armstrong Hall. Enjoy the voices of our community at a choir competition featuring a variety of genres.

    Everybody Welcome: Sky Sox take on the Oklahoma Redhawks Monday, August 9th at Security Service Field Gates open: 6pm, Game Time: 7:05p, kids 12 and under eat free. Tickets are $9 each and $5 goes to support Everybody Welcome

    CSDF Diversity & Inclusion Awards Luncheon presented by Colorado Springs Business Journal Tuesday, August 10th
    CSBJ and CSDF have partnered to honor businesses and organizations in the Pikes Peak Region that demonstrate and promote diversity and inclusion in both their internal operations and external civic engagement. Standards of excellence will include highly inclusive organizational policies and benefits, as well as commitment to diversity training, education, and volunteerism on all levels of operation.     Community Roundtables Women / Men Wednesday, August 11th
    Dialogue centered on sharing ideas, exploring commonalities, developing relationships and discovering partnership opportunities at a collaborative roundtable focused on uncovering and recognizing and issues related to being male or femal in our community.

    Diversity Conference In partnership with Colorado Springs Society for Human Resource Management Wednesday & Thursday, August 11th & 12th, Crowne Plaza Hotel
    Featuring current and pertinent workshops and presentations providing information and materials useful to supervisors, managers, HR professionals and organizations for implementation at all levels.

    Immigration Symposium In partnership with PPIRC and ADL Friday, August 13th
    The Pikes Peak Immigrant and Refugee Collaborative and delegates from six different Colorado Springs churches traveled to witness the realities of the US/Mexico border. Experience their reactions and an historical and socio-economic context for understanding the current crisis at the border. Anti Defamation League of the Mountain States presents “Hateful Rhetoric Surrounding the Debate on Immigration Reform" Information regarding the increase in hateful rhetoric in the debate on immigration reform, including the use of such rhetoric in mainstream media and by hate groups followed by question and answer session.
