Design for Hope 2010

PPCC will hold a Gala and Silent Auction fundraiser, featuring nine innovative designs for green living, constructed by PPCC Interior Design students teams. Back for an encore after last year's wild success, the Design for Hope project, inspired by HGTV's popular show, "Design Star," provides each team with three walls and a floor platform, which serve as blank canvases.

Donations of furniture, lighting, finishes, and artwork, all with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly content, are featured in the designs. Rooms will be judged by celebrity judges Kim Myles of HGTV's Myles of Style and winner of Design Star's second season, and Matt Locke of Colorado Springs, and a competitor in Design Star from Season 3. Everyone is invited to vote for their personal favorite room!

The Gala event includes wine and beer tasting, appetizers provided by local restaurants, music, and amazing items for the silent auction, such as custom furniture, a Vespa scooter, kitchen cabinets, cork flooring, free-standing bathtubs, beautiful vessel sinks and faucets, and much more! Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit CASA of the Pikes Peak Region.

NOTE: Public tours of the nine rooms will be given on Friday, June 11, from noon to 6 p.m. $5 admission. Photo shows last year's winner of the People's Choice award.
