Gallery Talk: Ever wonder what those white/blue/green/red many-armed deities are all about in hanging Tibetan scroll paintings? Come find out the details about iconography and symbolism in Tibetan Buddhist paintings, and about how these images are employed in religious visualization practices on the path to enlightenment. Explore how a rich blend of depth psychology, subtle physics, profound aspirations of compassion and beautiful art forms combine to energize millenia-old traditions of Tibetan spiritual development. Professor David Gardiner, Chair of the Colorado College Religion Department, and faculty member since 1998. Specialist in Buddhism. Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Stanford University. Co-founder of BodhiMind Center, dedicated to sharing Buddhist teachings and practices in Colorado Springs.
