Dr. Charles Fox Gardiner’s long life captures the essence – and often adventure – of practicing medicine in late 1800s and early 1900s Colorado, including the Pikes Peak region. John Stansfield is a professional storyteller and author, talented Colorado Chautauqua speaker, UCCS faculty member, and winner of the Wilderness Society’s 2004 “Environmental Heroes” Award. The talk is based on the illustrated book “Doctor at Timberline” originally published in 1938. In 2008 the book was re-published by the Pikes Peak Library District. Books will be available for purchase.
