Butterflies and Friends Gala Auction
September 19, 2010
Add Review/Comment
The 3rd Annual Butterflies & Friends is a community service initiative led by The Rotary Club of Colorado Springs in partnership with Imagination Celebration to raise awareness and funds to serve children and promote the arts in schools. Participating artists will contribute to making dreams real by transforming large-scale metal butterfly "templates" into
works of art.
The funds raised will be used to provide community-building arts programs in schools that are facing major transitions and changes. These children are all our children and need to see that we care. With all of the economic challenges that families are facing, the “butterfly” is an excellent metaphor. The recipient schools for this year are Bijou School and Monroe Elementary in Colorado Springs School District 11.
Each transformed butterfly sculpture will be auctioned off at our celebration (September 19th at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort) to help provide arts education in targeted schools and assist the Rotary Community Service Fund in contributing to many wonderful causes in Colorado Springs. Everyone will have a chance to provide a permanent shelter for these evocative beauties at their own home or business. Help us to promote a "healthy cocoon for every child" and encourage a creative metamorphosis into all that each can be!
Please join us at the Butterflies and Friends Gala Auction on September 19th at 3:30 at the Cheyenne Mt. Conference Center. Go to www.artsandfriends.org to RSVP.
