The PLACE fine arts festival will open to the public on Saturday, September 25 at 10 am and will showcase the work of approximately 50 visual artists, working in a broad variety of mediums. This premiere community-wide event will also include: quick draw artist demos, a battle of the bands, improv theater, a Taste of Palmer Lake, gallery walk and talk and a harvest ball and jam on Saturday night from 6-9 pm.
Sunday promises to just as exhilarating with the festival re-opening at 11 am and running through 4 pm. Bluegrass and bar-b-q will be the theme for Sunday’s family friendly atmosphere. Community artists and area teachers will also be on hand to demonstrate their talents.
PLACE is sponsored by Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts (TLCA), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit arts center whose mission is to create community partners for demonstrating, teaching, exhibiting and promoting the arts and humanities. In addition to PLACE, TLCA fulfills its year-round arts outreach through rotating gallery exhibitions, concerts and live music events, performing arts, classes and workshops, and affiliations with other arts, non-profit, and for-profit organizations.
PLACE is supported through a community-wide partnership among TLCA, the Town of Palmer Lake, a grant from the Colorado Council for the Arts, and area businesses and restaurants.
