Make plans to join growers from all over Colorado as they compete in an international competition to grow the heaviest pumpkin. Pumpkins will range in weight from a few hundred pounds to over a thousand pounds!

The 2009 Colorado State Record was 1,287 lbs, 2008's weighed in at 1,135 lbs, and 2007 saw a 1,075 pound pumpkin. Will Old Colorado City be the home of a new state record for 2010?

This free event is fast becoming a great family tradition and enjoyed by all ages. These enormous pumpkins, squash and long gourds are displayed all afternoon. While they are waiting for judging, you can walk around them and pose for pictures. Don’t forget your cameras!

Kids, bring your tiny pumpkins down and get them weighed. Bring them decorated, natural, teeny-tiny or as big as you can carry and win a prize. Kids activities from Noon to 4 pm. Watch for other event highlights.

Don't miss this free family event, Saturday, October 2nd in Historic Old Colorado City.
