A Hero's Life
Presented by Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra at Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts
September 25-September 26, 2010
Maestro Lawrence Leighton-Smith begins his final season with an artistic milestone: Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben – “A Hero’s Life.” The work demands enormous orchestral forces, telling of adventures in battle and peace. Mozart’s Abduction begins the performance with bursts of joy, and Copland’s Appalachian Spring is a keepsake of countryside, devotion, and home.
