Join Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff in Oscar Wilde's high-energy, madcap romantic farce, 'The Importance of Being Earnest' as they woo and win the ladies they love, while both impersonating someone by the name of Ernest. All goes well (or does it?) until the truth comes out...

      As a director of a jr high/high school drama program, I recommend a lot of plays to my students, but this one I am urging them to see twice. Oscar Wilde would be delighted with this portrayal of his story. With great understanding of what is truly humorous in this farce, the players deliver each and every line as naturally as if it were happening right now. Not only are the conversations richly delivered but the astounding choreography as they move through the scenes draws the audience into the spell of the tale. I laughed till I cried at the simplest of actions such as eating the cucumber sandwiches to the swashbuckling sword fight with umbrellas. Karen Hamer, director, has done it again with her rich insight into what is truly funny and how to choose a cast to pull it off. I intend to see it again in November and am thrilled for the opportunity for my students to learn what theatre should be. Collapse

      As a director of a jr high/high school drama program, I recommend a lot of plays to my students, but this one I am urging them to see twice. Oscar Wilde would be delighted with this portrayal of his story.
