You won't want to miss this chance to see so many musical varieties mixed into one band!
“… What makes these Heathens so refreshingly different is the overall musicianship and seamless blending of alt-rockers, folk tales, gutbucket blues and heartland anthems.” – Chicago Sun Times. The guys in the Band of Heathens are fond of saying they became a unity by accident. But that’s like saying the Big Bang was an accident. Unplanned, maybe, but hardly random one might even argue that a kind of destiny was involved. The Band of Heathens is a merger of singer/songwriters/ multi- instrumentalists Ed Jurdi, Gordy Quist and Collin Brooks, with bassist Seth Whitney and drummer John Chipman.“The band doesn’t like to do things safely,” Quist explains about their aversion to using set lists, planned programming, or, for that matter, a planned career path. “Random and chance might actually be named as extra band members in their liner notes somewhere.”Their newest album, One Foot in the Ether, is their strongest work so far. Their last album hit No.1 on the Americana Music Association Radio chart, spent two months at No. 1 on the Euro-Americana Radio chart and wound up at No. 8 on the AMA’s Top 100 Album’s of 2008 list. Be sure to come out to Stargazers and enjoy an evening with the Band of Heathens.
