Opera Theatre of the Rockies continues its popular series of special presentations that set the stage for their annual Pikes Peak Center Grand Opera presentation. Shave and a Haircut: The Barber of Seville Sessions consists of six scheduled events inspired by the Rossini masterpiece. Each highlights different aspects that have contributed in making this one of the world’s most beloved operas.
First, local arts advocate and classical music historian David Sckolnik kicks off “Shave and a Haircut” with a survey of Barber’s recorded history at the Sound Shop Audio/Video. He will compare the great vocalists and conductors who have scaled the comical and musical heights of the opera for the past 100 years.
