The 5th Congressional District and Cottonwood Center for the Arts are hosting the competition, with works selected from high school artists from the district. Both the Herbertson and Spittler Galleries will display the local student's artwork.
The Congressional Art Competition was created by Senator James Jeffors (Vermont) in 1982 while he was a member of the House of Representatives. Every year, congressional offices across the nation initiate the Congressional Art Competition in their own home districts.
