Come to the Western Museum of Mining & Industry to watch the Thunderbirds fly for AFA graduation. Bring and enjoy a picnic lunch by our spring fed ponds and flowering meadow as you experience the mighty Thunderbirds soar right over the top of you! Don’t forget to tour the museum for a whole day of fun. Museum tours begin at 10:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.

      The Mining Museum is terrific place to watch the Thunder Birds on Air Force graduation day. In many ways, it’s even better than seeing the air show from the stadium. You have a complete view of... Expand

      The Mining Museum is terrific place to watch the Thunder Birds on Air Force graduation day. In many ways, it’s even better than seeing the air show from the stadium. You have a complete view of the T-Birds approach and fly out. You can track the T-Birds and anticipate their tricks. I’m certain the T-Birds use the Mining Museum’s sixty foot tower as a land mark and at times fly over the Museum very “close to the deck.” You can pack a picnic lunch. Parking is no problem and you don’t have to worry about getting in and out of the Academy. Best of all, after the show, you can tour the Museum and see the amazing contrast between technology from the 1800’s and 2011 (The Museum operates much of their gigantic equipment – it is something to see!). This is a great, educational, and inexpensive way to send an afternoon! Collapse
