"Passion Retold" Fresco Images by Kevin Thayer

The nine images portraying the story of Christ employ western iconography in a 20th Century setting and are constructed like the frescoes of the 14th Century Italian Renaissance. These 48” x 36” images, created by a process called “Fresco RI” are displayed on freestanding 8’ x 4’ plaster walls. Inspired by the Renaissance, one of the greatest ages of religion and art, Kevin respects both contemporary art and Christian doctrine. His ambition with this exhibition is to foster a dialog between the Christian and art communities, bridging the artistic and religious differences of the Colorado Springs region.
There will be a special opening reception on Friday, April 22nd at 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Then, the artist will come to give a gallery talk on May 4th at 6 p.m.  Mark your calendars!
