Professor Matt MacKenzie, Colorado State, Fort Collins presents. In Buddhist thought, it is said that both individuals and their world(s) arise through the process of karma. The Buddha teaches that "beings are owners of their actions, heirs of their actions; they originate from their actions." He goes on to proclaim, "In this fathom-long body, with its perceptions and thoughts, I proclaim the world to be, likewise the origin of the world and the destruction of the world." This talk will be a philosophical exploration of the distinctively Buddhist idea that, through the karmic process, we enact ourselves and our worlds.

Sponsored by the Colorado College religion department and BodhiMind Center (www.bodhimindcenter.org).
