"Soundtrack for a Revolution" tells the story of the American civil rights movement through its powerful music - the freedom songs protesters sang on picket lines, in mass meetings, and in jail cells as they fought for justice and equality. (2009, directed by Bill Guttentag & Dan Sturman) This nation has a vibrant and unique musical tradition – and so does its cinema. This film and lively discussion series with Colorado College professors Dylan Nelson and Clay Haskell examines the role of American music in American movies, as a craft and as a subject.
