Second Sunday Jazz Affair
June 12, 2011
Add Review/Comment
The Pearl Street Jazz Band from Denver will perform at the Pikes Peak Jazz And Swing Society’s second Sunday Jazz Affair. Since 1989, the PSJB has thrilled audiences throughout Colorado, the United States and the world. Their style is a mix of Traditional Jazz, Swing, Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Latin, Jazz and Gospel. A typical show includes tunes from Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin and Thelonius Monk, among others. This variety makes the group unique and memorable. Their arrangements include high-powered complex horn lines using the classic front-line instrumentation of clarinet, trumpet and trombone. With a four-beat driving rhythm section, it is an exciting sound experience.
Tickets are available at the door; reservations are not necessary. There will also be dancing, door prizes, a cash bar plus a full buffet and dessert bar available for purchase.
