BYOB Poetry happens every last Friday at The Modbo. This Friday, May 27th, join us for open mic poetry with featured guest poet Julianza Shavin. She will feature with her poetry, original music, and poetry duets with Phil Ginsburg. Shavin is an oxymoronic "working poet," composer and visual artist who grew up in Georgia, and who is intransigently soft-wired for the "cold, arid, oxygen-depraved circumstance called Colorado." She has 2 dogs, 2 cats, three children (one still at home), and a small portion of her original gray-matter. She's fond of all kinds of poetry, attends every open mic possible, and hopes you'll buy one of her books; if not, she hopes you'll bring extra beer.
