The Basic Blacksmith Workshop will be back for its 7th year. Here is an opportunity to experience a full day working as a traditional blacksmith does, using the age-old skills of fire, hammer and hand; to shape and form hot steel on the anvil, working in the beautiful surroundings of Rock Ledge Ranch and Garden of the Gods. Ranch blacksmith Andy Morris, one of the Pikes Peak Region’s most accomplished craftsmen, will conduct two one-day workshops for beginners and those who have a minimal amount of experience. These hands-on workshops will include an overview of blacksmithing history, tools, techniques and discussions of supplies necessary for starting you own shop. Each participant will forge practical and decorative items from hot steel to take home and amaze their family and friends!
