“I was taking a contemporary philosophy class with Harvey Rabbin, and ?two of my a comp lit majors, Val Oldham and Laura Subin, asked me to photograph the fall 1990 Dance Workshop show. I had just inherited my aunt’s twin lens reflex Rolliflex camera and had begun taking pictures. Some of the choreographers and dancers from that first concert are still making work, and I am still photographing their work.”
