Fans of Americana music—music that is inspired by the great traditions of America's roots and cultures—can get their fix at Stargazers’ monthly Acoustic/Americana Showcase. The concert is hosted by “Big” Jim Adam, who will be joined by the best local talent. This month’s guests are John Swayne and Lisa McCall.
Big Jim's best instrument is his rich baritone voice, which lends him an attention-grabbing authority. His skill at storytelling, emotional singing, and the honest musicianship of his acoustic guitar never fails to captivate his audience.
John Swayne is a Colorado singer/songwriter who performs throughout the Southwest at acoustic venues, songwriting showcases, and house concerts. He currently has two CD projects--...Waiting to Hear From You and Showin’ Off. John’s songs have been covered by various country artists including: Jack Greene, Don King, Leroy Mac, Rita Aileen, Wendy Manley, Sons and Brothers, Allison Page, and Cindy Foss.
From ground zero of the Delta--Clarksdale, MS to the home of the blues--Memphis, TN comes Lisa McCall, premier female lead and slide guitarist. Lisa provides scorching guitar licks, haunting vocals, and life experiences--all expressed in her original independent contemporary blues CD release My Friends & Memphis Fever.
