    Rodney Wood ~ “The Judge, the Jury and the Art of Self-Assessment”

    This workshop deals with the mysteries of the judge/jury process. It will also address the issues presented by having one’s work reviewed by gallery owners/managers, museum curators, grant givers etc. In a very related arena we’ll examine how one learns to look at their own work objectively – This part of the process will include topics such as marketability, pricing and artistic growth.     This workshop deals with the mysteries of the judge/jury process. It will also address the issues presented by having one’s work reviewed by gallery owners/managers, museum curators, grant givers etc. In a very related arena we’ll examine how one learns to look at their own work objectively – This part of the process will include topics such as marketability, pricing and artistic growth. An awareness of one’s own strengths, weaknesses and potential is vital to understanding the opinions of others. To directly experience the process of ongoing assessment (both that from others and oneself) attendees will participate in numerous hands-on exercises designed to examine and clarify the artist’s own ideals and aspirations. Note: All artists will be required to bring samples of their work – portfolios, prints, internet sites etc.
