Wood, Paint, Clay: See how they mix!
October 21-November 13, 2011
Add Review/Comment
Featuring: Larry Fox • David V. Gonzales • Dave Koller
Local woodturning artist Larry Fox will be introducing his latest creations using suspended Cripple Creek Turquoise. The turquoise may be “outlayed” around the rim or “inlayed” inside a bowl or vessel. This combination of soft wood and hard stone makes for a unique artistic woodturning.
David V. Gonzales’ paintings have motion and color weaving through the surface to create a sequence of visual time experience. Created both in the studio and Plein Air, his paintings for this show are of the Manitou Springs region. One important aspect of being an artist, to Gonzales, is to choose to work with products that are non-toxic and to purchase materials that are either made in this country or in factories that have ethical standards in their work places.
Diversified artist Dave Koller enjoys working in both 2-D and 3-D formats. Painting for him is a passion, as well as working in clay. Versatility is key for this artist and teacher who may be painting, sculpting, or throwing on the wheel to explore the possibilities of creative expression.
Self-expression can be viewed in any media that we simply define as art.
