Colorado Springs Diversity Forum Presents “When Cultures Collide” with Novelist Terry Marshall & Illustrator Chuck Asay
Political rancor in the U.S. has tossed common decency into the trash bin. For many, civility is now an obscenity, and compromise a cardinal sin. So what could be more improbable than a collaboration between bleeding heart liberal activist Terry Marshall and Colorado Springs’ conservative cartoonist Chuck Asay on a novel entitled, Soda Springs: Love, Sex, and Civil Rights? Terry wrote it. Chuck illustrated it.
They do agree on one thing: fiction can speak more powerfully to truth than fact. The truth is, they say, unless we have walked in your shoes, we can’t really understand what it means to be you – or me.

Meet the author and the illustrator over light refreshments, followed by a talk that will draw upon the novel and catapult participants into a fresh understanding of a range of perspectives on issues relevant today
