Political rancor in the U.S. has tossed common decency into the trash bin. For many, civility is now an obscenity, and compromise a cardinal sin. So what could be more improbable than a collaboration between bleeding heart liberal activist Terry Marshall and Colorado Springs’ conservative cartoonist Chuck Asay on a novel entitled, "Soda Springs: Love, Sex, and Civil Rights?" Marshall wrote it. Asay illustrated it. They do agree on one thing: fiction can speak more powerfully to truth than fact.
