Home for the Holidays: An Evening of Music to Benefit The Crawford House
December 11, 2011
Add Review/Comment
Part of the joy of the holiday season is the opportunity to help others, and this benefit hits close to home since we have so many veterans in our community! Proceeds from the heart-warming show will go to the Crawford House (part of the Colorado Veterans Resource Coalition), which provides shelter to homeless veterans. The Charlie Milo Trio, Hammerstadt, and Mango fan Django will entertain you with some great music that borders on too much fun.
The Charlie Milo Trio (CM3) has a progressive jazz funk fusion approach to music that feels like a reinvention of itself with every performance. Led by its namesake Charlie Milo on bass, with Chris Combs on drums, and Eric Blackmore on guitar, CM3 relies heavily on a classical jazz approach, overlaid with a dose of pure George Clinton-esque funk and broken/odd rhythm prog.
Hammerstadt is a four-piece electric ensemble dedicated to the performance of original music, but also known for their arrangements of classic songs from a variety of genres.
Mango fan Django has been playing Gypsy Jazz in Colorado since 1998 and is known for a unique style of acoustic guitar swing that's delighted audiences of all ages.
