Pikes Peak Jazz And Swing Society Birthday Party
January 8, 2012
Add Review/Comment
The Pikes Peak Jazz And Swing Society will celebrate their 27th birthday on January 8 with the Gentle Rain Band. Marcie and Ed Hureau started the "Gentle Rain Band" over 25 years ago while they were still in the Air Force Academy Band. The band plays all styles of music authentically, from jazz to country and everything in-between.
Everyone knows Marcie -- she sang with the Falconaires and Wild Blue Country until she retired in 2007 after 31 years of service. She still sings all over town -- you've probably seen her at the Broadmoor or Sunrise Church or one of the dozens of venues she works at. Ed (aka Marcie's Husband) retired in 1998 and has also been active in the music scene ever since, playing with Frank Fanelli in the Tavern and Bob Alexander at the Garden of the Gods. Featured in the Band for this performance are Jim Christian, phenomenal guitarist and vocalist, and the Flores brothers, Stefan and John, both of whom bring such talent and dynamic playing to this group
There will also be dancing, door prizes, a cash bar plus a full buffet and dessert bar available for purchase.
