    An Affair of the Heart reveals the close relationships that Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 32nd president of the United States, had with Eleanor Roosevelt, Lucy Mercer Rutherfurd and Margaret “Daisy” Suckley.
    This historically accurate program, using letters and personal documents, looks back to an earlier period in American history and the ways in which four responsible, decent public and private citizens dealt with their personal, intimate needs – needs which are common to all human beings.
    The first segment of the program examines the complex and intertwined relationships of the characters. In the second segment audience participation is solicited and vital.
    Franklin Roosevelt is portrayed by Richard Marold, who has portrayed FDR nationwide for a number of years. A member of the Colorado Humanities Chautauqua program, Richard also portrays Cripple Creek gold king Winfield Scott Stratton.
    The voices of Eleanor Roosevelt, Lucy Mercer Rutherfurd and Margaret “Daisy” Suckley are portrayed by Mary Jane Bradbury. She is a historic interpreter for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and a member of the Colorado Humanities Chautauqua program.
