    Citizens Project presents the third annual Citizens’ Religious Freedom Institute, a one-day seminar on how the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects religious freedom in public schools. For teachers, students, parents, administrators, staff, school board members, and open to the public. Participants will learn: How the law defines religious freedom in the public school setting; best practices for teaching about religion without endorsing it; and how to be an advocate for protecting the rights of all students in your school. Topics include school prayer, evolution, creationism, intelligent design, equal access, student religious expression, music at school functions and more.

    For graduate course credit: participants can earn one graduate credit hour from the UCCS School of Education for $82. Please notify the organizers in advance if you plan to register for this track. For working teachers and administrators: participants can earn eight contact hours of in-service training for $25. All courses are optional, and participants may come and go at any time during the day. All are welcome but participants are asked to register in advance. Lunch and materials are provided to all participants.
