    Celebrate the Forest

School is out, the weather is warming up, days are getting longer and trees are leafing out – looks like summer is upon us! This is the time of year we shake off the winter blues and go for the greens of the season. School is out, the weather is warming up, days are getting longer and trees are leafing out – looks like summer is upon us! This is the time of year we shake off the winter blues and go for the greens of the season. It’s also a time to think about fun family outings, getting outside and enjoying the all the beauty that our region has to offer.

The partnership of the Woodland Park Healthy Forest Initiative (WPHFI) has some great opportunities lined up for you and your family this summer. Join us for “Celebrate the Forest” at the Meadow Wood Sports Complex (Hockey Rink) in Woodland Park for a free event that will focus on great activities including archery, fishing, safe hiking and trails, geology, local history, fossils, wildlife and wildfire. We will also announce the winners of the “Biggest Tree Contest” and distribute prizes!

There are lots of great reasons for getting outdoors and enjoying the wonders of nature. Come Celebrate the Forest with us, and learn a little more about your community and amazing back yard! For more information visit: www.hayman10th.org and click on the Celebrate the Forest tab.
