Wondering what to do with the family and out-of-town guests this July? Bring them to the 1890 Old Colorado City History Center, 1 S. 24th Street, across from Bancroft Park, for our "Tuesday Nights in July" program series.

July 10th – “Three Local Women Writers” and their marvelous new books. Jan Pettit – Utes, The Mountain People; Ruth Obee – History in Stone: the Story of Red Rock Canyon; and Toni Hamill – Images of America: Garden of the Gods. The books will be available for purchase that evening.
July 17th – “Cowboy Poetry and Pie” Tom and Donna Hatton, award winning musicians and poets will present a tapestry of music and poetry. CDs will be available for purchase.
July 24th – “A Night at the Movies” Walter Matthau stars in the CBS movie, The Incident. This was filmed in Old Colorado City. We’ll provide the popcorn.
July 31st – “Conversation with Queen Palmer and Helen Hunt Jackson: Dispelling the Myths” Come enjoy tea and cookies with these two famous Colorado Springs women. Their husbands established Colorado Springs and shared the same social groups. Reenactment by Doris McCraw and Dianne Hartshorn, both local historians.
