The Rocky Mountain Opera Company will present a concert version of "Otello" by Verdi based on the work “Othello” by Shakespeare. It will be performed in the beautiful Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with full orchestra, chorus and soloists under the direction of Maestro Luciano R. Silvestri, Jr., music director and conductor of the Pikes Peak Philharmonic. Giuseppe Verdi composed this tragic drama in four acts at the age of 74. It is regarded as the greatest of all his tragic and dramatic operas.
The roles of Otello and Desdemona will be sung by Colorado Springs singers John and Gail Carpenter.

RMOC was created to provide opportunities for more mature singers over the age of 45 to continue sharing their talent and love for opera with appreciative audiences. Our organization is committed to doing performances of lesser known operatic repertoire involving larger more dramatic voices and also reaching out to under served audiences.
