GCA: Pre-Show Appetizer
August 30, 2007
Add Review/CommentWith all the excellent programming he's been doing, it's hard to believe that Gallery of Contemporary Art Director Christopher Lynn has yet to show off his curatorial skills! Well the wait is almost over, and you can get a preview taste as Lynn expounds on the artists and themes in the upcoming exhibition, Manifest: Colonial Tendencies of the West. Impress your family and amaze your friends with the insightful knowledge you will display at the opening reception - knowledge you picked up weeks earlier at the Pre-Show Appetizer. Lynn will talk about the exhibit artists Philip Kwame Apagya, Amy Chan, Luis Gispert and Jeffrey Reed, Patti Hallock, Danny Ledonne, Louise Noguchi, and Kehinde Wiley, and how their work relates to the colonial tendencies of Western culture. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session. Manifest: Colonial Tendencies of the West will be on view September 14 - November 17, 2007. The Pre-Show Appetizer is open to the public
