Wendy Woo and Katie Herzig
August 17, 2007
Add Review/CommentWendy Woo and Katie Herzig will be performing at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts on Friday, August 17, 2007. Wendy Woo continues to play to sold out venues every week as she displays a blend of soul, vibrancy, and wild child attitude. She will draw you in and hold you there with her voice which is simultaneously intimate and assured. Her songs are wide-ranging in style but always pure in emotion: from down and dirty blues to defiant ex-lover funks to summer day sambas to wistful ballads. Woo’s guitar-playing includes fretwork riffs so unusual they always generate cheers. Her talent has not gone unnoticed as she has broadcasted nationally for the Altitude Sports and Entertainment Network and the Food Network, a documentary for Discovery Channel, and sings the theme song for “Good Day Colorado,” on Denver'’s Fox affiliate. She is also part of national sports retailer Title Nine’s Emerging Women Artist series. In addition, she has won numerous accolades including, to name just a few: Five-Time Winner Best Singer/Songwriter (Denver’s Westword) Independent Artist of the Year (2003) (Hapi Skratch Entertainment). Best Boulder Musician (2004) (The Boulder Weekly). With 7 CD’s under her belt, her talent continues to WOOOOO her fans! Opening for Woo is Katie Herzig, originally the lead singer of Colorado based band, Newcomer’s Home. Herzig is now a Nashville based solo artist who continues to romance audiences in the way she juxtaposes lyrical playfulness and whimsy with thoughtful depth and emotion. She is sure to captivate you with her stunning, delicately, powerful voice. Katie currently has two solo CDs and her song, Heaven’s My Home, was nominated for a 2007 Grammy for Best Country Performance by the Duhks. She also has had various TV placements on shows including “Smallville” and “ER”.
