In this class, students will learn how to dye only fabric with fiber reactive dyes using a dye bath. This is a technical class where we will learn mathematical equations to create dye baths and to reproduce colors. We will learn how to create a dye bath, how to create stock solutions, how to mix colors, how to recreate the same color, and how to create different depths of dye with the same color. T
his class is good for those who dye yarn, such as weavers, knitters, spinners and for those using fabric, such as quilters, garment sewers and surface designers, to create their own unique colors. In the end we will create a color reference guide.

Instructor Bio: Melanie Audet is originally from the Detroit area of Michigan. She received a BA from Albion College and a BFA from the Oregon College of Art and Craft. She is the owner and proprietor of Melanie Audet Limited Editions. Her love for textiles is more of a compulsion and she loves to share this passion with others.
