Buddy Whittington began playing the guitar at an early age, being inspired by his sister's records of The Beatles, Rolling Stones and, in particular, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton At the age of 14 he was already a part of the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene and playing regularly in the clubs along Jacksboro Highway
During the early 80's, he formed and sang with his own band "The Sidemen" In 1991 they opened for British blues legend John Mayall When Mayall's guitarist Coco Montoya left the Bluesbreakers in 1993, Mayall called Buddy him to fill in Buddy performed with Mayall until 2008
In his 15 years as lead guitarist for John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Buddy gained a loyal legion of blues fans around the world through his impeccable skills on electric guitar Traveling with the “Father of the British Blues”, Buddy blew the crowd away at concerts in South America, throughout Europe and all around the United States Since striking out on his own at the beginning of 2008, the Texas bluesman has already completed two European tours
In 2008 Buddy released his first self -titled solo CD to rave reviews Six String Svengali, Buddy’s second solo effort two years later, also was received with high acclaim
“We love bringing Buddy Wittington into the Crystola” says Amy Whitesell of A Music Company Inc, promoter of the show “Buddy is thoroughly entertaining and his show always has a few surprises He has gained a strong following in the Pikes Peak region”
Backing up Buddy for this show will be one of the most popular bands in the Pikes Peak region, The Atomic Fireballs

Al Eberhardt’s Changing Times Quintet might be described as “Southern Colorado’s Fabulous Five” This group plays standards and some originals that appeal to jazz and dance crowds of all ages The Changing Times was created by Al Eberhardt in 1976 and was at that point a six piece band made up of all Air Force Academy band musicians who wanted to “moonlight” with gigs off base After the arrival of John Turner as pianist for the group, it added more vocals to it’s repertoire and dropped from a sextet to a quartet format for most engagements, to make the group more affordable The group’s popularity grew through the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s and was featured as a house band in the Broadmoor Hotel for almost two decades during that period The band even once embarked on a special “fan’s musical cruise” of the Caribbean for the group’s loyal followers, and band family members The Changing Times has also made three

recordings
The national magazine monthly publication, “Dancing USA” and the Denver Post, have both given Changing Time’s albums high reviews Currently, the original band members now mostly perform with other groups, but still are featured with “The Changing Times” quintet for occasional local special engagements that demand their unique skills and abilities
For the July 3, 2013 concert at The Broadmoor Community Church, The Changing Times Quintet will feature Al Eberhardt on trumpet and vocals, John Turner on piano and vocals, Carlos Crull on Tenor sax and vocals, Wayne Wilkinson on guitar, and Eric Eberhardt on drums and vocals This highly versatile group will perform a variety of musical styles of jazz and swing tunes

Grammy®-winning pianist/vocalist Diana Krall, one of today's best-selling jazz artists, is coming to the Pikes Peak Center with an evening of unmistakably sophisticated jazz She will appear on the heels of her self-proclaimed “song and dance” album Glad Rag Doll with her Glad Rag Doll World Tour

Diana Krall's extraordinary new album Glad Rag Doll (10/02, Verve Records) is an exhilarating and adventurous exploration of new sounds, new instrumentation and new musicians It stars a singer and piano player, filled with mischief, humor and a renewed sense of tenderness and intimacy

The record reveals itself at that remarkable vanishing point in time where all music, swinging, rocking and taboo, collide with songs of longing, solace and regret All are made new again in a vaudeville of Krall's own imagining

Celtic Thunder Mythology is the latest show from Celtic Thunder
The core theme of Mythology is found in the original opening number "Voices," “Voices call from the old days, Voices tell from the past, Ancient laws and ancient old ways to recast” It’s the story of the Celtic People, their legends, their culture and their stories It’s the lifeblood of modern day Celtic people everywhere and the influences from our Celtic past, which are still carried in each one of us as part of whom we are and where we come from
The set of Mythology is big; it’s dramatic and imposing The new and the old combine Modern catalyst images are projected onto ancient monolithic standing stones, a giant Celtic cross takes center stage and the tempo of the music is strongly echoed in the theatrical and moody lighting
Mythology is by far Celtic Thunder’s most impressive production to date, bar none

If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses… think again Straight No Chaser (SNC) are neither strait-laced nor straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch They have emerged as a phenomenon with a massive fanbase, numerous national TV appearances and proven success with CD releases They’re performing on the heels of the release of Under the Influence, their fourth album release through Atlantic Records The album features contributions from superstars Jason Mraz, Rob Thomas, Phil Collins, Dolly Parton and more! Straight No Chaser is the real deal, the captivating sound of ten unadulterated human voices coming together to make extraordinary music that is moving people in a fundamental sense… and with a sense of humor On the road, Straight No Chaser has built a reputation as an unforgettable live act
