The show is a glittery, theatrical and vibrant show that will warm up the chilly winter days.

Instruction includes discussions of camera settings, equipment choices and composition.     10/05/11- 10/31/12	Open Print Studio Cottonwood Center for the Arts Open Print Studio Presented by Cottonwood Center for the Arts at Cottonwood Center for the Arts October 5, 2011-October 31, 2012 The printmaking studio at Cottonwood Center for the Arts is now be available for printmaking students, former students or those that can provide a portfolio demonstrating experience in a printmaking environment. Hours are 10am to 5pm on Wednesdays. There will not be instruction but Kay Beaubian, printmaker extraordinaire,  will be available during open studio hours to help get your set up, use the press or answer technical questions. Call ahead to make reservations.

This course will cover a broad range of subjects including old master paintings, portraits, wildlife, still life and landscapes.
    02/18/12- 02/19/12	Jennifer Hanson: Plates & Platters Cottonwood Center for the Arts Jennifer Hanson: Plates & Platters Presented by Cottonwood Center for the Arts at Cottonwood Center for the Arts February 18-February 19, 2012 During this weekend workshop, you will learn how to make clay slabs and use a slump mold to create ceramic plates and platters. Once this easy method is learned, you will be able to work at home to keep creating. The first day you will make your plates, the second day you will learn to decorate them using underglazes. All levels welcome, materials included. No clay experience is necessary.

In the weekend course you will find out. Students will learn the techniques and materials used by the old masters as they create their own realistic works of art. Through out the course, students will receive regualr critiques from a professional painter working in the classic style.     04/05/12- 04/26/12	Chris Alvarez Plein Air Painting Quick Sketch Cottonwood Center for the Arts Chris Alvarez Plein Air Painting Quick Sketch Presented by Cottonwood Center for the Arts at Cottonwood Center for the Arts April 5-April 26, 2012 Working plein air is the best way to capture the character of place on canvas. In this workshop you will focus on eliminating the unnecessary and focusing on the interesting aspects of a particular scene. In addition, you'll find out how to take that information and simplify it so as to interpret it quickly and accurately. This class will cover draftsmanship, composition, values, temperature and more. Although not required, drawing and painting experience would be helpful.

The fun filled class will take you from mud to music in a few simple steps. On day one you will make the rattles. The second day will be spent learning to use underglazes and carving to decorate them. All levels are welcome. No clay experience is needed and all materials are included.

Producing a solar etching plate is a safe, non-toxic process that can be used for producing relief and intaglio printing plates. Workshop participants will explore both ways of producing each type of plate and the wide variety of ways to prepare images for a solar plate.

Producing a solar etching plate is a safe, non-toxic process that can be used for producing relief and intaglio printing plates. Workshop participants will explore both ways of producing each type of plate and the wide variety of ways to prepare images for a solar plate.
