Theatreworks is a professional, regional theater dedicated to creating challenging and innovative productions of classic and contemporary theater for the enjoyment, education and stimulation of its audience. Theatreworks has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts. Shakespeare Quarterly called the summer Shakespeare Festival “as good, in absolute, as the best in the world.”

    Joe Turner's Come and Gone Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater Joe Turner's Come and Gone Presented by Theatreworks at Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater January 26-February 19, 2012 We think this is August Wilson's greatest play. The year is 1911. The place is a Pittsburgh boarding house. A mysterious stranger arrives with his daughter, stirring up a group of people on the move, people needing a new way to live and love up north in a new America. Theatre gets no richer than this.

Founder of the SITI Company in New York and the Viewpoints acting method, Bogart is the most well known acting teacher in America. She will join us for a Prologue discussion with the community and a workshop with our students.
    03/15/12- 03/25/12	Salome Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater Salome Presented by Theatreworks at Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater March 15-March 25, 2012 A scorned woman does it all to gain her vengeance- it's the stuff of Biblical legend. Our theatre, music and dance students drop seven veils and deliver one saint's head in their vivid and original re-imagining of this opulent classic of decadence, banned from the stage when it first rehearsed in 1892.

The passionate and impulsive Mary faces off with the skrewd and formidable Elizabeth in a political thriller where one lovely royal head must roll. Schiller's fabulous romantic drama is based on real events, lavishly spiced with sensational action, spectacular poetry, and a whirling galaxy of court intrigue. Hie thee to the tower!

      This is a very difficult concept to describe, but it is well worth it. Grab four friends and do this while you still can. As a bonus, you get to see one of the best views in Colorado Springs.

      The entire cast (chorus to the leads) are excellent. The best of show is the robot Ariel (Zach Murphy). Very talented!
