Colorado College Extraordinary Dance Festival

The three-week festival provides training in diverse forms across the discipline of dance for dancers from all over the world and in the Colorado Springs community. A series of performances accompany the classes, which are taught by an internationally-acclaimed faculty. The annual Extraordinary Dance! gala has become one of the most popular dance events of the year, featuring faculty artists and community performers.

    06/30/09	Flamenco Workshop Colorado College - Cossitt Hall Flamenco Workshop Presented by Colorado College Extraordinary Dance! Festival at Colorado College - Cossitt Hall June 30, 2009 The workshop will concentrate on the rhythmic base of flamenco: the compas (rhythm) as expressed in palmas (clapping), and as applied to footwork, arm, and hand movements. The workshops will introduce short choreographies based on the selected palo (theme) by the instructor, such as Bulerias, Tangos, or Seguiriyas. Open to dance lovers of all ages and abilities.
