This oasis on the plains features creek, pond, marsh, meadow and cottonwood communities. Come experience the trails, exhibits, interpretive programs, special events, outdoor recreation opportunities, group tours, environmental education programs for schools and volunteer opportunities. Admission is free.

Reservations are required.
    02/11/12	Waterfowl Identification Field Trip Fountain Creek Nature Center Waterfowl Identification Field Trip Presented by Fountain Creek Nature Center at Fountain Creek Nature Center February 11, 2012 Waterfowl species numbers are often highest in the winter in El Paso County. Join a naturalist on a field trip to several locations to learn what dabblers and divers are around and what field marks are used to identify them. Bring binoculars and or spotting scope if you have them. Reservations are required.
    02/24/12	Winter Night Sky for Beginners Fountain Creek Nature Center Winter Night Sky for Beginners Presented by Fountain Creek Nature Center at Fountain Creek Nature Center February 24, 2012 Make a star chart and learn the patterns and locations of stars and other night sky objects during an indoor presentation. Afterwards, we’ll go for a walk to locate stars and constellations visible in the winter sky. Bring a small flashlight, binoculars if you have them, and dress warmly. Reservations are required.
    02/25/12	Wildlife Drawing with Mr. Rick & Nature Hike Fountain Creek Nature Center Wildlife Drawing with Mr. Rick & Nature Hike Presented by Fountain Creek Nature Center at Fountain Creek Nature Center February 25, 2012 Nature’s more fun when you share it with someone! Draw your favorite animals, step by step with Mr. Rick, then teach others how to draw them too! Rick Flores is a cartoon artist and nature center volunteer who can make a fun time out of thin air! Then fox-walk with our staff to look for the animals’ homes and signs in the park. Paper drawing booklet & colored pencils provided. Ages 6 to adult. Reservations are required.
