About the artist:

I have always loved art even the lame tv art offered in elementary school using glue, cottonballs and paper plates... but I knew there had to be more, more I could get my hands on. I studied art in high school and then in college, drawing with pencil, charcoal and ink, I found a passion, but lack of time and life getting in the way I lost it for a while. When my son was in 1st grade, the art teacher at his elementary school asked if I could paint scenery, I had never really picked up a brush before ... but sure! why not! and I was in love with the colors the flexiblity and movement. My other passion from very early on has been animals. Mostly dogs, Moses, a huge St. Bernard, would follow me home every day, I would beg to keep him, since he loved me ... but I would take Moses back to his home and tell him, "maybe tomorrow." I have always had dogs in my life, they bring so much joy. So, combining the two I began painting Pop Art Pets ... bright, vibrant colors, expressing their individual personalities and how they speak to me. I am also expanding into other areas as well.. faces, pottery, and I would love to learn how to weld! I work with many animal rescues, Perks for Pups, All Breed Rescue, Dreampower, Safeplace, Paws4ever, and my favorite Operation Bagdad Pups. I am a Cottonwood Studio Artist, and involved with the Pikes Peak Studio Tour. I volunteer many hours at my boy's school in the art department ... hanging art shows or lending an extra set of hands for big projects.
