Artist Detail
Carol McIntyre
Visual Artist
About the artist:
"My passion is to create interior landscapes transporting you to another time and place ...to stimulate memories of the familiar. Nature's magic inspires me to bring harmony & intrigue to your world. With my use of color, design and palette knife, I want to stir your senses and invite your head and heart to go beyond the boundaries of the frame." At 36, Carol McIntyre unlocked the artistic vault she had kept sealed for over 15 years. In 1987, her late mother-in-law introduced her to watercolors and the blue suits of corporate life were traded for an artist's smock shortly thereafter. In 1994, she added the medium of pencil to her repertoir, followed by pastels in 2001 & oils in 2006. If McIntyre is not out on the landscape working, you can find her in her Black Forest or Deckers, CO studios. McIntyre is a national award winning artist, Past President of the Minnesota Watercolor Society, and she has curated, judged & juried regional shows. Her work has been featured in various national arts magazines, and she is a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and holds associate memberships of the Pastel Society of America, the Women Artists of the West and the Oil Painters of America.
