Artist Detail
Austin Young
Composer - Musician - Singer
About the artist:
Austin Lee Young, a Colorado native, has been described by some as being a “phenom” guitar player. His youth and energy lend to his own style of music which he calls “Texandrix Blues”. At 16 years old he exudes unbelievable passion and displays electrifying musicianship in his performances. His inspirations span the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamasa, Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Tim Young. Although the guitar is his instrument of choice, Austin is able to participate in any jam on the drums, bass guitar, and keyboards. His stage presence and relationship that he builds with audiences can only be described as “crowd pleasing”. Austin met talented 16 year old bass guitarist, Noah Mast, in the fall of 2008 and the two instantly had musical chemistry. They both attend Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs, CO. Both young men derive much pleasure in teaming up with Tim Young (Austin’s Dad), a veteran drummer of 40 years, who’s drum beat can only be described as “heart pounding” and keeps the band running on time. The three together form the band known as “Young Austin and NO difference”. They are local favorites and also spend time participating at statewide and national music events. Austin is dedicated to providing the listening audience with a modern high energy, high quality sound along with preserving the traditional roots of blues music. He is excited to be a part of “keeping the blues alive”!
