Jill Tristram
Visual Artist
About the artist:
Jill Tristram is originally from Ilion, New York, and grew up in Rochester, New York. After moving to Texas, she received an Associates of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Collin County Community College, in Plano, Texas. She has had years of serious art training and experience and is constantly developing, exploring, and experimenting with new techniques and a variety of subject matter. Jill demonstrates a remarkable facility for likeness and use of light. Her work has been accepted in various juried and non-juried shows. Her piece, "Chromatic Tulips," was published in CCCC "Forces" commemorative edition, 1996. She works in a variety of media, but prefers pastels. The hands-on characteristic of pastels allows her to literally sculpt the painting. Besides art, her hobbies include reading, photography, gardening, travel, hiking, and camping. She continues her love of travel, amassing a large library of photos for subject matter and references.
